Poor Egg Reserve
  1. Low ovarian reserve is when there is a physiological decrease in the number and quality resulting in an insufficient number to ensure a reasonable chance of pregnancy.
  2. Diminished ovarian reserve is the loss of normal reproductive potential in the ovaries due to lower count or quality of remaining eggs.
  3. Low Oocyte count is due to low numbers of remaining Oocytes in the ovaries (or) possibly impaired oocyte development recruitment in utero.

Diagnosis of Diminished Ovarian Reserve
  1. Hormonal analysis (Day 2, FSH, Estradiol)
  2. Anti Mullarian hormone assay.
  3. Transvaginal ultrasound to know antral follicular count.
  4. Stimulation tests (clomiphene citrate, FSH, GnRh).
Treatment Options: depends upon the whether they are completed family or wanted to have a family.
  1. Patient wants to conceive immediately means, the patient has to undergo ART, In that hormonal injections are given to induce many follicles called super ovulation. The ova retrieved used for IVF and remaining eggs or embryos are cryo preserved.
  2. For future fertility, Fertility preservation is done by woman’s eggs are retrived from her ovaries, freezing them for later use.
  3. Donor egg in conjuction with IVF.
  4. Mesenchymal Stem cell treatment, PRP treatment.

These treatments are newer advances in infertility, where they are rejuvenating ovary and eggs.
