gestational carrier or surrogacy
A Gestational carrier is also called a Gestational Surrogacy in an arrangement when a woman carries and delivers a child for another couple or person and return the baby to the intended parent’s once it is born. When using GC, the eggs used to make the embryos do not come from carriers. This technique requires IVF. Eggs and Sperm Oocyte retrieved from intended parents or donors and IVF was done. Embryos are transferred to Gestational Surrogacy. So, gestational carriers are not genetically related to children.
Indication
- Women, who does not have uterus(Hysterectomy, Mullarian anomally)
- Medical reasons that make pregnancy unsafe.
- Single man or gay couple.
- Endometrium completely destroyed due to scarring. TB or other infection.
- Multiple IVF failure even with normal embryos.
